New Discovery was launched in 2002 to supply a specialist recruitment service to clients involved in the development and implementation of new technology in the Life & Discovery Sciences sector. Zoë Dunn, the Director and founder, recognised that there was a great need for a consultancy that could help companies find those individuals who possess the finely balanced combination of scientific, technological and interpersonal qualities and interests, required to work within this complex and fast growing emerging technology field. Many agencies offered lab staff resourcing, whilst others managed positions with IT skill requirements but none specialised in informatics, computational biology / chemistry or intelligent instrumentation and robotics.
New Discovery has grown over the years and developed an impeccable reputation, working with the leading names and many exciting start-ups in their niche market. Zoë Dunn is a relationship builder who believes that the company's success can be mainly attributed to their shared passion for science with the ever growing network of happy clients and candidates who recommend their very holistic services. New Discovery is focused upon maintaining its understanding of the challenges in informatics and discovery today, conducting constant research into the new technology available, ideas and breakthroughs in relevant areas. Networking with contacts in the international research world and studying news in current scientific research and development.
Special areas of expertise are Bioinformatics, Cheminformatics, Medinformatics, Analytical and Computational Chemistry, Proteomics, Genomics, Molecular Modelling, Statistical Analysis, Drug Development and Formulation Technology, Intelligent Systems Technology, which include Robotics, Control, Biometrics and Data Management.
As of August 2007, New Discovery became a part of Phoenix & York, a collaborative business providing a broader range of consultancy and total solutions services across the globe. Zoe Dunn still heads up UK operations as director of New Discovery and works closely with the new parental company to further develop the specialist services provided by the New Discovery team.
